A new tradition continues to grow at Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) under the leadership of Superintendent Shrum. Today, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory convened for its first meeting of the year, bringing together nearly 150 students representing all 42 VUSD schools to share their thoughts, experiences, and feedback directly with district leadership.

Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) has been honored with the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Award for its innovative Blended and Non-Blended Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) Program, a model that is redefining early learning for students across the district.

Today, ten Visalia Unified students were named to the 2024-2025 Honor Society of the National Educational Equity Lab (Ed Equity Lab), an education nonprofit that works to bridge the gap between high school and college for students from historically marginalized, low-income communities

Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) was notified about the potential early implementation of federal funding cuts originally proposed in the 2026 Federal Budget.  These reductions may affect the 2024-2025 District budget, which recently closed.
